I work exclusively with self-paying clients.
Unfortunately, unlike psychotherapists who are licensed to bill Germany’s statutory health insurance system, I cannot bill public health insurance directly. I hold a German licence as a Heilpraktiker for Psychotherapy (licensed practitioner for psychotherapy).
Depending on your health insurance, you may be able to claim part of the costs. Some private insurers, supplementary health insurance plans, or statutory health insurers offer partial reimbursement for treatment provided by a Heilpraktiker for Psychotherapy. I recommend contacting your insurer directly to ask about your individual coverage. Some statutory insurers reimburse around €17 per session as part of their voluntary benefits.
Individual counselling (50 minutes):
You choose your own fee between €80 and €130 per session. I want counselling to remain as accessible as possible, so you decide what you can reasonably afford. Clients who choose a higher fee help make lower fees possible for those with more limited financial resources through a solidarity-based pricing model.
If your employer has an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) contract with voiio, the cost of your sessions is usually covered by your employer.
If you are a student or are currently experiencing financial hardship, please get in touch. We can discuss a reduced fee together.
Couples counselling:
I am happy to support transgender, non-binary and gender-diverse clients in therapy, whether you are exploring your identity, navigating a transition, coping with minority stress or seeking a supportive space to talk.
At present, however, I do not provide assessment letters, diagnostic reports or recommendation letters for gender-affirming medical treatment (such as hormone therapy or surgery), nor do I prepare reports for legal or administrative purposes.
“Queer” is a collective term for the diversity of sexual orientations and gender identities within the LGBTIAQ* community. (LGBTIAQ* stands for “lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, inter, asexual, queer”.)
“Queer” doesn’t just describe the sexual orientation or gender identity of my primary target group and myself. “Queer” can also be understood as the method and attitude with which I work: It is a non-conformist category that may contain entrenched thoughts and ideas challenges rigid boundaries. With my support, you might get inspiration and a new perspective at your concerns - beyond conventional "boxes of thought".
GSRD stands for "Gender, Sexual and Relationship Diversity" (more here). It is a therapeutic expertise that relates to the special needs and realities of queer people and their sometimes non-traditional relationships.
LGBTIAQ* is an acronym for the spectrum of sexual orientations and gender identities and stands for "Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual, Trans, Inter, Asexual, Queer [and the asterisk * for all other possible queer ways of being that are not yet reflected in the acronym.] Other forms of the acronym are also possible and common (LGBTI, etc.). In order to reduce the complexity, the generic term used here is "queer" as an adjective and "queerness" as a noun. This is intended for all non-heterosexual, non-cis and non-traditional ways of being and living.
As you can see from the name of my practice and website, the topic of "queerness" is close to my heart: Most of my clients are gay / queer. As a (cis-)man who lives openly as a gay man, I have knowledge of the queer world myself. Gay/queer issues are one of my main focuses. So you can assume that I know your topics and concerns and have a lot of counselling experience in that field.
Sure, of course. You are welcome with me. My focus is not intended as an exclusionary signal, but is only intended to describe a particular expertise and my approach.
I have been supporting leaders again and again since 2014, and increasingly since 2021, since I also offer EAP. I am familiar with topics and challenges from individual counselling sessions and supervision but also from the training courses that I offer specifically for leaders: including "Managing Diversity", "Leading Employees with Mental Stress", "Having Difficult Conversations" and "Dealing with Bullying and transgression". If you are a leader, you have certainly come to the right place.
Sure, of course. Currently I work mainly online. I have a virtual practice room on ZOOM. If you prefer another program, please let me know. I'm flexible.
Please check your technological equipment before we meet. Is the camera working? Does the microphone work? Maybe you can test everything in advance with a friend. And please make sure the place where you want to talk to me is quiet and confidential. It doesn't work so well from cafes, in public places or while on the go.
Yes, exactly. Around the end of the month or after a few sessions, I will send you a collective invoice by email. You don't have to actively ask for it.
Für die Steuern braucht es auf der Rechnung bitte deinen vollständigen Namen und deine Adresse. Bitte teile mir beides mit.
No problem at all. Such is life. You can cancel or reschedule our appointment up to 24 hrs before free of charge. You don't need to explain why. If you cancel later, don't show up for the session or if you're too late, I need to charge you for the full session. So please contact me as soon as possible if you know you won't be able to keep the appointment. You can easily another one on my online calendar if you like.
I will of course take into account any emergency situations that may have contributed to a short notice cancellation.
I can cancel or ask to postpone a session up to 24 hrs before. If I have to cancel a session with less notice or if I made a mistake in my booking system so we can't meet, you will receive a million apologies and a 50% discount on your next session.
I am pleased to be part of a network of counsellors, psychologists and health centers with whom I cooperate. Behind the following names there is a link to their websites. (However, I am neither responsible for the content or any content linked there and I do not receive any commission for the recommendation.)
I occasionally mention the following books during my sessions. Please consider ordering them from your local bookstore rather than from Amazon. (I do not receive any commission for these book recommendations.)
Is your question not answered here? I'm sorry for that. Please feel free to contact me to ask. I usually respond within a day.
