Counselling (also: Coaching) is rather related to a specific, clearly defined topic that you would like to solve: a current conflict, for example, or an upcoming decision. A therapeutic process, on the other hand, it is rather characterised by a desire for mental growth, a pain that affects several areas of life or by wanting to improve a relationship as a whole. It is also rather about emotionally understanding causes and healing change resulting from it.
In actual practice, however, the difference between counselling and therapy doesn't really matter. Both aim to make you feel better soon. And contrary to what the term “counselling” implies, it’s not just about giving advice. I understand my role more as encouraging you to develop your own solution ideas. I will accompany you and, as is the motto of QUEER COUNSELLING, I will be happy to be by your side.

I first met Patrick in 2017 when I was feeling stuck on a number of topics, especially in relation to work, life and development as a catholic boy and compulsive behaviours. I felt very well taken care of by him as a therapist. In under 10 therapy sessions Patrick enabled me to change my thinking, behaviours and make progressive steps to living a better life, all thanks to the tools and techniques that Patrick introduced in our sessions.
Now 5 years later - after some life changing experiences and some new topics that were ruminating in my head and holding me back, I had no hesitations in knowing who could help me.
Patrick is without doubt a first class Therapist - who equipped me with tools to raise up and get back to living my life; empowered and confident in my own skin - liberated from all the societal burdens of life which were conscious or previously otherwise within me.
I have found Patrick to be a most empathetic and sympathetic counsellor. I am English speaking based in Berlin and was wary of having counselling from a native German speaker but Patrick not only speaks English fluently he also understands the nuances of our conversations as though it was his first language . I have really benefitted from my sessions with him. He listens carefully and each session I come away with a different, fresh take on things. He also makes me laugh more than any other counsellor I have had!
